Established in 1935, D. Brickman Inc. was primarily a wholesaler to farm stand trade. Moving to the current site in 1958 the company started selling to supermarket chains across the northeast and in 1999 the company changed again and entered into wholesale food service distribution. D. Brickman Inc. added fresh seafood in 2005 and became the first "produce company" to start selling fresh seafood in upstate New York. Today fresh seafood represents a healthy portion of the company's sales and is complimented by artisan local cheeses.
Being located on the farmers market enables us to provide the freshest locally grown and harvested produce. From the Schoharie Valley, Catskill Region, and upstate New York our goal is to bring you and your customers the freshest produce available. Our seafood comes in daily from Boston, New York and Hawaii. The whole fish is then processed by hand in a chemical free environment using an ozonized water system which kills 100% of the bacteria and prolongs shelf life. The technology and HACCP approved process embraced by the company assures our customers the highest level of food safety and traceability.
The receiving, storing and shipping of fresh produce and seafood are fully document by a third party audit. We maintain the cold chain from the growing and harvesting areas to your door. Four separate storage areas, each with different temperatures maximizes the freshness and shelf life of produce, seafood and the ripening of fruit. Our fleet of trucks is all temperature controlled, which allows us to deliver the freshest possible product in the winter and summer seasons.
Since the beginning, integrity, honesty and a strong sense of purpose have guided D. Brickman Inc. through many changes. We value our relationship with our customers and suppliers. Any organization regardless of its size is a direct reflection of its employees. We appreciate the hard work, dedication and commitment to service excellence from all of our employees and we hope you do to.
